5 Minute Dressing Room Exercise?

That is right. And this will save you from much troubles later. OK, you are taking several pieces to a dressing room. Start trying them on.  Do the following exercise with each: Can you sit down and still breath? Can you sit down to see how far your skirt raises up? Can you raise both arms comfortably? By the way see if your arms are good enough to wear a sleeveless top. You don’t want a “Can you bend down without showing your underpants?” Bend down to see how low the cleavage is? Can you pull your arms to the side and by doing so how tight does the blouse or jacket look and feel? Are the buttons pulling? Turn and turn around several times. Now you did your exercise.

Once I had this funny experience: I was trying on something and a woman was calling for anyone around.  I went out of my dressing cubicle and saw this woman on the floor.  She asked if I could help her get up. She lied down to zip up the tight jeans but it was so tight that she could not move!

Wear the nature colors!

Wear the nature colors!

Look at this picture! Someone forwarded this picture to me. When I saw this I turned around to see on my kitchen counter what I just brought in from the grocery store.  This lady (she has to be in a pretty advanced age) had on the exact colors of my colorful peppers!!  Not only her hair band, her silk top and skirt, and drapey pants and shoes and bag happened to be the pepper colors, her carrying sack was also the color of my golden pepper with the carrying sack handle in the same stem color!!

I always believe in inviting natures colors into your wardrobe because we are a part of the earth. But this was wonderful. Now you can look around and find some fun color combinations you did not think about before and wear them.  For instance, combine your purple jacket with yellow T and green skirt (colors of iris). Enjoy yourself, enjoy the abundance of the earth.

Naples, Florida--Mini Image Conference

Just got back from Naples, Florida.  It was windy like here but they had fabulous flowers blooming!! Well, at lease we looked just as colorful in the photo here, don’t you think? It was a short 4-day trip with my close colleagues and we discussed about colors and styles for the coming seasons so we can help our clients better. The trip was in a way a tribute for Evana Maggiore, the creator of Fashion Feng Shui, who just passed away, who was one of our very close colleagues and friends.

My Paradise Visit

Just got back from a long distance road trip to California. And I found my “Paradise” there!  I thought San Francisco was it for a long time but I fell in love with the Monterey Peninsula area, especially Pacific Grove. We drove Route 1, the slower coastal drive from outside LA to northward. What a beautiful drive it was! You could clearly feel that we humans are fortunate to borrow a smidge of space sandwiched between beautiful mountains (not all mountains had trees but they were nevertheless gorgeous) and many shades of azure colored ocean. In this drive I noticed the bridges were beautifully harmonious with the nature. No bare grey concrete. Breath-taking views continued almost endlessly. My eyes were entertained by various surprises.

We all love anything beautiful and not boring, right? TEXUTURE, CLARITY and SURPRISES are 3 words which popped in my head. Trees, shrubs, rocks, water, and sky with clouds—these create different textures and clarity. I found clearness in all that I saw, nothing was blurry.  And surprises that were such fun to discover. The same things apply to your image. You don’t want to look blurry and boring!  We spot you because your looks have clarity, texture, focal point and something interesting.
